Claus from Danmark
Autumn 2008 I faced extensive dental treatment of the teeth in my upper jaw. My bridges had fallen out or loosened, crowns had fallen off and several teeth were in dire need of root treatments. Others were broken or inflamed around the roots or both; all in all I faced something really expensive.
The price with my Danish dentist for a maintaining dental treatment was close to 100.000 kr. which quite simply was out off my reach. Likewise was it a problem that the durability of the treatment at best would be in the vicinity of 2 to 4 years and then I could start all over again. Furthermore my experiences with maintaining dental treatments by Danish dentists were not that good, to put it bluntly, I just felt I was drained of money.
So I decided to explore the opportunities for dental treatment outside Denmark. I made quite a research and in the end I focused on Poland and Hungary as the more attractive options from a point of price. Beyond that, I made a trip to Poland to make inquiries and invite offers of treatments and prices.
Connected to my inquiries, I became aware of Aesthetic Center in Copenhagen and Dr. Tomasz Cegielski from Stomatologia na Podzamczu in Szczecin - Poland. After careful evaluation of my teeth, Dr. Cegielski suggested a metal ceramic bridge mounted on implants as the best and most viable solution for my upper jaw. This could be done in 3 phases like this:
Phase 1: *3D CT x-ray scan of upper jaw
*Extraction of all the teeth in my upper jaw
aside from canines
*Sinus lift in each side
*Insertion of implants
*Fitting of a temporary denture
Phase 2: *Extraction of canines
*Fitting of a new temporary denture
Phase 3: *Mounting of abutments on implants
*Mounting of a metal ceramic bridge
And how was all this carried out?
Beyond all expectations! With a few moderations - all to the better, Dr. Cegielski stock to the plan and time frame.
One change and a large improvement in the original plan I would like to mention, was the fitting of a fixed metal ceramic bridge on my canines instead of a loose temporary denture as mentioned in phase 1. This bridge could, with small modifications remain in place, right up to the fitting of the final bridge.
I have been really grateful for that change. It meant that I was relived of all the hassle and irritation of a loose acrylic denture. It also meant, that I during the whole treatment which lasted a little less than a year, has been able to maintain a nice face without contractions around the jaw, a really nice smile with nice teeth and an excellent chewing function due to the fixed bridge. Last but not least I would like to mention, that there haven't been any complications at all, just as I didn’t experience any mentionable pains during the whole treatment.
Now, when my treatment has finished, I have a Smile like a million dollars and I have some very good memories of my visits in Dr. Cegielski's clinic in Szczecin. I can only give Dr. Cegielski my warmest and most sincere recommendation, he is - in my opinion - the most skillful, professional and considerate dentist I have ever met.
Yours truly
